All Saints Academy wanted to thank the Emergency Services

After the recent tragedy in Manchester, the staff and pupils of All Saints Academy wanted to thank the Emergency Services for all their hard work.  Pupils and staff filled 12 boxes with goodies and had them delivered to the Police, Fire Service, Ambulance Station and Greater Manchester Children's Hospital.

Nicholas Carter, Student Voice Co-Ordinator, said “the response we've had from our staff and students is incredible. The idea originated from our wonderful students and their actions are testimony to their kind and considerate nature. The Student Voice Team from All Saints Academy would like to say a big thank you to Deakin-White who provided funding for Welch Couriers LTD to be able to courier our boxes to Manchester for us.”

Ed Harrison of Deakin-White commented “It’s great to see community spirit like this in our town and when we were approached by All Saints Academy to offer assistance we were more than delighted to help and shows what a great place we live in and how the younger generations have so much to offer our town”.

On Monday 5th June 2017 a new networking group was launched in Dunstable, exclusively for Dunstable businesses.  The first event attracted 28 local business owners and senior management who enjoyed a delicious meal at The Olive Garden on West Street while forging new relationships.

The Pride of Dunstable President Ed Harrison & Vice President Steve Spicer hosted the evening and presented to the local business owners their concept for the group and why they decided to create the supper club.

The Pride of Dunstable Supper Club plan to meet on the first Monday of every month at a different venue around the town to help boost the local economy and showcase the wide variety of restaurants and venues Dunstable has to offer.  Their next event will be on Monday 3rd July.

Ed Harrison – President of Pride of Dunstable said ‘This not for profit group aims to create a strong local business network of professionals – whilst giving back to the community.  As a member, alongside the opportunities from being part of this business network, local businesses will also benefit from exclusive access to talks from local government, community peers and more, putting them at the forefront of the local community information.  We also plan to offer educational programmes for businesses and their staff to help them grow.
